Job Summary
Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations using cognitive sonographic skills to identify and record appropriate anatomical, pathological, and diagnostic images. Operate ultrasound machines and utilize new technologies while maintaining ethical working relationships with patients and staff. Coordinate work with physicians and healthcare team members, including assisting during invasive procedures when applicable. Supervise and train students and medical sonographers as needed. Report and call in-service requests on equipment. Maintain a high standard of medical ethics and self-motivation to increase knowledge of the sonography field. Schedule varies; full-time role with 40 weekly hours. Some sites may expand responsibilities to include echocardiography.
Required Qualifications
- Registration in at least one of the following areas of sonography is required: Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), or registry eligible
- Registry preferred within two years after hiring
- If working in North Dakota and performing medical imaging or radiation therapy procedures, licensure through the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy (NDMIRT) Board is required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required
- For employees who provide outreach mobile services, maintenance of a valid driver's license and good driving record is required
- An accepted offer will require a drug screen and pre-employment background screening as a condition of employment
Desired Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of Diagnostic Imaging, Allied Health Certificate/Diploma or a minimum of one year equivalent work experience is preferred
