Job Summary
Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Ultrasound position at Cleveland Clinic Medina Hospital. Performs diagnostic sonographic imaging including obstetrical, GYN, abdominal, retroperitoneal, small parts, pediatric, and vascular studies. Operates ultrasound equipment, ensures patient safety and comfort, reviews charts and requisitions, educates patients, schedules and coordinates ultrasound procedures, transmits and prints images via PACS, processes billing via RIS, maintains equipment function, and may rotate through multiple diagnostic imaging modalities. Will assist with clinical instruction of ultrasound students and residents, orient new caregivers to procedures, and participate in ongoing education and conferences to maintain up-to-date knowledge. Minimum qualifications include graduation from an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program, RDMS or ARRT certifications upon hire, and BLS certification. Preferred to advance certifications within 18 months. The role may require evening and on-call shifts, with weekend coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school in Diagnostic Medical Sonography and in good standing
- Registered Diagnostic Sonographer (RDMS) through ARDMS or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) RT(S) or RT(VS) upon hire
- One certification within abdominal (RDMS, AB), OB/GYN (RDMS, OB/GYN) or vascular (RVT, VT) upon hire
- The other two certifications must be obtained within 18 months of hire
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
