Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered, while monitoring patient conditions and reporting status changes. Select appropriate exposure factors, position patients, and perform imaging procedures, analyzing results to identify and resolve quality issues. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implement safety standards, and enter scan results. Work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment, collaborating with Radiology students as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
