Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and scheduling; educate patients on procedures and equipment. Prepare and administer contrast media or medications when ordered. Monitor patient condition, report status changes, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Select imaging parameters, position patients, and perform diagnostic procedures. Analyze results, resolve image quality issues, and transmit scan reports. Work with Radiology students while exercising critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Critical thinking skills
- Decisive judgement
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
