Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and scheduling; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. When ordered, prepare and administer contrast media or medications within scope of practice. Continually monitor patient condition, report status changes, and prepare equipment while selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implement safety standards, perform quality control on equipment, and troubleshoot malfunctions as necessary. Position patients, perform imaging procedures, and analyze results to identify and resolve image quality issues. Enter, transmit, and report scan results, potentially working with Radiology students. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Minimum of three days availability for the position
- Ability to work onsite (no hybrid or remote option)
