Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Administer contrast media and medications when ordered. Continually monitor patient condition, report status changes, and prepare equipment while selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Implement safety standards, perform quality control, and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions. Position patients, perform imaging procedures, and analyze results to identify and resolve image quality issues by re-positioning or repeating procedures as necessary. Enter, transmit, and report scan results, collaborating with Radiology students as needed. Requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider
- Minimum of three days availability for the position
- Ability to work onsite (no hybrid or remote option)
