Job Summary

Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Monitor patient condition continuously, report status changes, and administer contrast media or medications when ordered. Prepare and position patients, select imaging parameters, and perform diagnostic imaging procedures. Analyze results, troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, and resolve image quality issues by re-positioning or repeating exams. Enter and transmit scan results, collaborating with Radiology students as needed. Requires critical thinking and decisive judgment in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • State licensure if required by law
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
