Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging in Radiology Ultrasound per scope of practice and organizational policies. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, educating patients about procedures, preparing and administering contrast materials within scope, monitoring patient status, preparing equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, implementing safety and quality control procedures, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, positioning patients, performing imaging, analyzing results, and reporting scan findings. May work with Radiology students. Must hold appropriate ultrasound certification (RDMS/RVT/RDCS or ARRT S) and state licensure if required; must be able to work in a fast-paced, onsite environment and maintain professional standards.
