Job Summary
Performs diagnostic ultrasound imaging in Radiology Ultrasound per scope of practice and organizational policies. Responsibilities include reviewing patient history and physician orders, educating patients about procedures, preparing and administering contrast materials within scope, monitoring patient status, preparing equipment and supplies, selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters, implementing safety and quality control procedures, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, positioning patients, performing imaging, analyzing results, and reporting scan findings. May work with Radiology students. Must hold appropriate ultrasound certification (RDMS/RVT/RDCS or ARRT S) and state licensure if required; must be able to work in a fast-paced, onsite environment and maintain professional standards. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or certified in Sonography (S) by ARRT
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS through AHA or Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date (valid through 60 days after hire)
