Job Summary

Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Administer contrast media and medications when ordered. Monitor patient condition, report status changes, and prepare equipment while selecting appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters. Perform imaging procedures, position patients, and analyze results to identify quality issues. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, resolve image problems by re-positioning or repeating procedures, and enter scan results. Work within scope of practice with critical thinking skills in a fast-paced environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
  • Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
  • Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • State licensure if required by law
  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
  • BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
