Job Summary
Review patient history, physician orders, and schedules; educate patients on procedures and equipment to ensure cooperation. Monitor patient condition, report status changes, and administer contrast media or medications within scope. Select imaging parameters, position patients, and perform diagnostic procedures while analyzing results for quality issues. Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, implement safety standards, and enter scan results into the system. Work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision, collaborating with Radiology students as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Technologist program or Diagnostic Medical Sonographer program
- Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS), Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
- Certified in Sonography (S) by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
- State licensure if required by law
- BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date
- BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
