Diagnostic Laboratory Technician I

Job Summary
Perform routine diagnostics using radioimmunoassay (RIA), enzyme-linked reagents, and automated instrumentation to evaluate gastrointestinal function in veterinary patients. Prepare buffers and reagents required for testing, enter patient data into the GI Lab database, and verify diagnostic results on spreadsheets for sample reporting. Maintain records of supplies and reagents, assist GI Lab Admins in customer service by answering calls, and train student employees in the laboratory. This role supports the Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine's teaching, research, and outreach programs for animals, humans, and the environment.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- College Station, TX/Full-Time
- May require work during holidays or TAMU closures
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
- All positions are security-sensitive
- Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation
- Employment is contingent upon the institution's verification of credentials and/or other information required by the institution's procedures
- Completion of the criminal history check
Desired Qualifications
- One year in scientific research, clinical, operational, or experimental work
- Ability to use routine lab equipment, spectrophotometer, pH meters, etc.
