Diagnostic Imaging Technologist Assistant

Job Summary
Transport patients safely between imaging areas, gurneys, and wheelchairs while maintaining equipment cleanliness and operational flow. Assist technologists with patient transfers, room setup, and image management, including vital signs checks and sample transport. Monitor patient conditions, report clinical changes immediately, and ensure infection control and universal precautions are followed. Manage communication via Vocera tools, answer calls, coordinate exams, and maintain inventory. Perform additional duties as assigned, including oxygen tank checks and lab sample transport. Requires current BLS certification and MRI safety training within three months.
Required Qualifications
- Is certified in CPR and able to perform if necessary
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support)
- MRI Safety training
- Proficiency in reading and writing English
- High school graduate, HiSET or GED equivalent
- May be needed on nights or weekends to cover open shifts
- Rotating holidays

- Ability to problem-solve using good communication and people skills
- Ability to promote and maintain good customer relations
- Utilizes good body mechanics for safe transportation of patient and equipment
- Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing environment
- Demonstrated ability to receive and be open to feedback and open to a changing environment, which requires flexibility in scheduling and department assignments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with many ages, and different populations
- Demonstrated ability for follow through on tasks, job duties and assignments
- Ability to safely and ergonomically move equipment, patients and supplies required
- The ability to use a telephone, Vocera, and computer keyboard required
Desired Qualifications
- High school graduate, HiSET or GED equivalent preferred
