Job Summary
Analyze oil samples and equipment condition data to identify potential issues, provide technical recommendations, and support customers in improving equipment reliability. Perform daily diagnosis and interpretation of oil analysis results, assess lubricant and equipment conditions, and identify abnormal conditions or root causes. Compare historical and current test results to identify trends, review out-of-specification findings, and recommend retesting or corrective actions. Respond to customer enquiries regarding test results and maintenance programs, explain diagnostic findings, and conduct visual inspections of samples. Prepare diagnostic reports and trend analysis charts, present technical findings, and participate in on-site troubleshooting activities when required.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Science, or a related discipline
- Minimum 1 year of experience in lubricant analysis, condition monitoring, maintenance engineering, or a related technical field
- Basic understanding of lubricant analysis, equipment reliability, and condition monitoring principles
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good report writing and communication skills
- Ability to explain technical information clearly to customers
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Able to work independently as well as in a team environment
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in marine, power generation, industrial equipment, or reliability engineering
- Knowledge of laboratory testing techniques and equipment
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems and laboratory procedures
- Demonstrates integrity and professionalism in accordance with SGS Standards of Ethics and Integrity
