Job Summary
Performs Cardiac Ultrasound procedures including transthoracic echocardiograms, treadmill stress echocardiograms, and dobutamine stress echocardiograms according to ARDMS protocol. Responsible for image optimization across multiple patient positions, clinical history capture, and preliminary interpretation of echoes. Assists with transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE) setup and post-procedure tasks, maintains equipment cleanliness and supplies, ensures accurate billing records, collaborates with other cardiovascular/heath system areas, mentors new sonographers, maintains continued education credits, and archives patient images with appropriate data. Requires 1 year of formal training or equivalent experience and CPR certification; college degree and RDCS certification preferred.
