Diabetes Educator RN

Job Summary
As a Diabetes Nurse Educator, you will educate and empower patients on insulin self-administration and glucose monitoring, support lifestyle changes through medication and nutrition guidance, and lead DSME programs aligned with ADA standards. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, collect and analyze program data to improve patient outcomes, and stay updated on diabetes education. A Bachelor's degree in nursing, RN licensure, and at least 5 years of clinical experience are required, with a preference for experience in outpatient care and diabetes education.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience, including teaching in a specialty area
- Experience in outpatient care and working with multidisciplinary teams
- Strong critical thinking and clinical competence
- Current RN license in Maryland OR Nurse Multi-State Compact license with Compact or Multi-State Privilege designation
- Strong documentation and continuing education record
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to teach, motivate, and inspire patients
- Commitment to excellence in practice and patient-centered care
Desired Qualifications
- Certification in area of specialty required
- Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) credential preferred or eligibility to obtain certification
