Job Summary
Derby High School seeks a Language Arts Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The Classroom Instructor creates a positive learning environment to facilitate the personal, social, and intellectual development of students; must work closely with staff and administration. Responsibilities include planning and preparation, providing quality instruction, managing classroom procedures, assessing student learning, organizing space, and coordinating/assisting with field trips and student activities. Must demonstrate knowledge of content and pedagogy, maintain accurate records, communicate effectively with the school and community, and grow professionally in alignment with Derby Public Schools’ mission and policies. Salary is an annual contract ranging from $50,003 to $85,354, with benefits per the district contract. Essential functions emphasize instructional design, student engagement, professional responsibilities, and adherence to policies.
Required Qualifications
- 1. Bachelors degree from an accredited college/university.
- 2. Current Kansas State Teaching License on file in the Central Office.
