DHS Information System Security Officer II

Job Summary
DHS Information System Security Officer II responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive security policies, procedures, and standards for DHS IT systems and networks; overseeing security assessments, audits, and vulnerability management; leading investigation and response to security incidents; developing and managing security awareness and training programs for DHS personnel; partnering with IT teams to integrate security controls into system development and implementation; staying current on evolving threats and best practices to maintain proactive security posture; mentoring ISSO II staff and supporting career development; role supported by TS/SCI clearance and federal/government security frameworks.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of direct ISSO experience within the DoD/Federal Government
- Experience within the Intelligence Community and Law Enforcement is a strong plus
- Proven track record leading and managing cybersecurity programs
- In-depth understanding of information security principles and best practices (network security, system security, encryption, incident response, risk management)
- Extensive experience with vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and configuration review
- Thorough knowledge of DoD STIG, NIST CSF, FISMA, RMF, and DHS supplemental controls
- Experience with OpenRMF is a strong plus
- Bachelor's degree and/or CRISC, GISP, CASP, CISSP or equivalent advanced security certifications
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team
