DFS Support (Eng. Tech. IV)

Job Summary
Adjudicate departures from specification for depot-level repairs of U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines. Review all DFS requests from the Type Commander and interface with the Ship's Force and Maintenance Team to process higher-level adjudications. Monitor and track DFS to ensure timely responses, while communicating operational limitations impacting key events and milestones for CNO Availabilities. Provide regular status updates to the Naval Supervisory Activity on all related DFS matters. Maintain an active DoD SECRET Security Clearance with 3 to 5 years of shipboard HM&E experience. Associate degree in engineering or related field required.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET Security Clearance
- Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field
- 3 to 5 years of shipboard HM&E experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with naval engineering tracking metrics, technical writing, and system validation procedures
- Ability to execute physical shipboard surveys or technical documentation audits in accordance with assigned division protocols
- Ability to read and interpret NSI's, NSTM's drawings, and other technical documentation
- Ability to attend Technical Authority Training within 3 months of hire
- Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders
- MS Office suite proficiency required
- Familiarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirements
- Ability to use clear and concise oral and written communication
