DFCA Case Manager

Job Summary

Coordinate and provide services to foster children, families, and adoptive families by conducting home visits, office visits, and telephone contact to meet physical, emotional, and educational needs. Complete thorough documentation, admission and discharge paperwork, and regular file audits in accordance with licensing requirements. Participate in child placing decisions, crisis intervention, and court hearings while collaborating with STAR Health and DFPS. Facilitate foster parent trainings, recruit foster homes, and assist with transportation for family visits. Requires a Bachelor's degree in social work, two years of related experience, and the ability to work nights and weekends.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or other human services field
  • Minimum of 2 years prior related experience
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as required
  • Proficient ability to speak, read and write English
  • Ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with appropriate state license, following all laws applicable
  • Must provide proof of liability insurance
  • Must be eligible to be insured under Buckner's insurance policy
  • Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner
  • Ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force continuously to move objects and/or people
  • Ability to walk, stand and sit, sometimes for prolonged periods of time
  • Knowledge and experience must meet Texas Minimum Standards for Child Placing Agencies
