Job Summary
Perform dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry (DEXA) scans to assess bone health, positioning patients and operating imaging equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images. Review and verify patient information and physician orders, analyze scan results for quality, and ensure proper documentation and submission for physician interpretation. Maintain accurate records in the electronic health record and imaging systems while adhering to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols. Conduct routine quality control checks and equipment calibration per manufacturer and regulatory guidelines. Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure timely patient care and provide education on bone health as appropriate. Requires current Basic Life Support certification and state registration as a Bone Densitometry Equipment Operator.
Required Qualifications
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Registered as a Bone Densitometry Equipment Operator (BDEO) in the state of Colorado
- International Society for Clinical Densitometry (ISCD) – Certified Bone Densitometry Technologist (CBDT®)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) - certified radiology, nuclear medicine, or radiation therapists
Desired Qualifications
- 1 year experience performing DEXA scans
