DevOps Team Lead

Job Summary
Lead a team of DevOps engineers while designing, implementing, and maintaining complex financial infrastructures in a highly regulated environment. Manage team planning, prioritization, and delivery of infrastructure roadmaps, including 1:1s, performance feedback, and professional development. Enhance business continuity of Production systems by developing and deploying critical infrastructure changes, advanced security solutions, and orchestration solutions for containerized micro-services. Deploy and maintain infrastructure automation tools, support continuous deployment environments, and drive best practices across the team. Balance approximately 30% leadership with 70% hands-on engineering to support an exactly-once, zero-data-loss transaction processing system using AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and Python.
Required Qualifications
- At least 10 years of industry experience in R&D/QA/IT
- At least 5 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, including some experience leading or mentoring others
- Hands-on experience supporting business continuity of Critical Production Systems
- Proven experience delivering & communicating complex solutions to stakeholders
- Corporate Information Security hands-on experience
- Broad understanding of networking
- Experienced with continuous integration tools
- Experience with IaC of a cloud provider (preferably Terraform & AWS)
- At least one scripting language (e.g. Python, Groovy, Bash)
- Experienced with Kubernetes, Docker container management and orchestration
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Windows & Linux server system administration – a plus
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and communication skills in English
- Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and comfortable balancing leadership with hands-on delivery
- BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience with CI/CD integrations with SCM and code review tools
- Experience with Helm Charts
- Experience with ArgoCD
- Experience with Cloud Cost reduction
- Proven Database Administration experience
- Familiarity with database security best practices
