DevOps Platform Engineer

Job Summary
Develop and refine the strategy for the Internal Developer Platform, including defining Golden Paths, engineering guardrails, and self-service capabilities. Establish and oversee enterprise-wide platform standards, CI/CD frameworks, and reusable services across all product teams while designing large-scale Kubernetes-based environments. Implement observability and reliability practices using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry, alongside advancing DevSecOps initiatives for secrets and vulnerability management. Create reference architectures, documentation, and operational procedures, then monitor platform performance, capacity, and cost efficiency. Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to ensure cohesive workflows and troubleshoot infrastructure issues across various environments. Report directly to the Head of Software Development. Open to work four days per week in Porto. Fluent English required.
Required Qualifications
- 5 to 10 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering
- Proven track record of defining enterprise-wide platform standards, CI/CD frameworks, and developer platform capabilities in large-scale environments
- High experience with AWS and GitLab within enterprise contexts
- Built and operated Internal Developer Platforms using tools such as Backstage, Crossplane, or similar frameworks
- Strong background in platform governance, developer productivity initiatives, and DORA metrics
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
- Open to work 4x per week in the office in Porto
- Fluent English - spoken and written
