Job Summary
Design, build, and maintain the Patchman backend infrastructure, including API gateways, load balancers, and internal processing nodes. Develop new product features from design through testing, implement CI/CD pipelines, and write comprehensive unit and integration tests. Investigate complex customer-reported issues by digging into the codebase to identify root causes. Operate a large fleet of dedicated servers, monitor production performance, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to refine architecture and contribute to technical direction.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience as a Backend or DevOps Developer
- Proficiency in at least one high-level programming language
- Experience designing backend services, with a solid understanding of performance, concurrency, scalability, and reliability
- Hands-on experience building and running high-throughput data pipelines at scale using Apache Kafka, ClickHouse, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies
- Experience with SQL databases, such as PostgreSQL, and in-memory databases, such as Redis
- Strong understanding of different data storage paradigms, including relational, NoSQL, and in-memory key-value databases
- Practical experience with Docker and Docker Compose for local development and production deployments
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
- Experience working with monitoring systems
- Solid understanding of CI/CD best practices, including Git, automated testing, and deployment workflows
- Excellent debugging skills and the ability to investigate complex technical issues
- Analytical mindset and the ability to interpret metrics and user feedback to make data-driven decisions
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Upper-intermediate spoken and written English
Desired Qualifications
- Experience working with Django
- Experience with configuration management systems, such as Puppet, Ansible, Salt, or similar tools
