Job Summary
Define artifact and container-based deployment strategies and evolve the immutable deployment platform. Design high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems while collaborating with development teams. Implement on-premise and cloud infrastructure solutions on VMWare, AWS, and Azure, maintaining and upgrading data center assets. Develop and deploy Infrastructure as Code using Ansible and Terraform, and build CI/CD pipelines to automate builds and deployments. Troubleshoot system performance, network connectivity, and security issues, performing upgrades, patch management, and hardening. Enable developers to build and deploy images locally, on Kubernetes, and to the cloud within a polyglot environment supporting Java, Python, Go, and PHP. Monitor performance, availability, and security across on-premise and cloud environments, contributing to tools that automate deployments and unify metrics.
Required Qualifications
- 3 - 5 years of experience in DevOps, Systems Engineering, or similar roles
- Linux experience - knowledge on Linux system administration and troubleshooting
- Exposure to container technology (e.g., Docker), container orchestration systems (e.g., Kubernetes), container-focused Linux distributions, and cloud virtualization
- Cloud experience - designing and building tools and infrastructure for cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Knowledge on DevOps tools - Ansible, Terraform, Helm, Jenkins, Gitlab, Grafana, Prometheus, Loki amongst others
- Operational experience - comfortable providing support to other departments, optimizing deployments for availability and uptime, going deep on troubleshooting and remediation
- Programming experience - Bash, Python, Golang amongst others (both reading and writing)
- Great communication skills, both written and verbal
- Eagerness to learn new technologies
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with VMware vCenter, clustering, and virtualization technologies will be considered a plus
- Experience managing bare metal servers, storage systems, and SAN networks will be considered a plus
- Knowledge of Relational Databases (e.g., PostgreSQL) and NoSQL systems (e.g., Redis, ElasticSearch, Couchbase, Cassandra)
