Job Summary
Integrate software components into the Linux-based Common Computing Environment (CCE) PaaS and improve the software build process. Configure hardware and software test environments while automating installation, testing, and monitoring using bash and Python scripts. Troubleshoot software problems through advanced isolation techniques and perform integration testing for custom containerized applications and open-source tools. Leverage Kubernetes or Docker Swarm for containerized deployments and utilize Ansible for infrastructure-as-code where applicable. This role requires a Secret-level security clearance and U.S. citizenship, with work primarily onsite at the GDMS Ashton Avenue Manassas facility. The position offers a flexible 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus 6 months relevant experience
- Department of Defense Secret security clearance
- U.S. citizenship
- Onsite work availability
- Experience integrating containerized software applications in Kubernetes or another container runtime such as Docker Swarm
- Skilled in development of bash and python scripts to automate installation, test, and monitoring of software components
- Advanced troubleshooting techniques for isolation of software problems
- Experience with integration testing for deploying and managing custom containerized applications and open-source tools and components
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Ansible infrastructure-as-code
- Experience with Linux and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Red Hat System Administrator/Engineer certification
- Strong understanding of software development process, as well as software engineering concepts, principles, and theories
