Job Summary
Drive the technology vision for Cloud infrastructure by conducting R&D on k8s operators, service mesh, and process automation. Design crash and test scenarios to improve resiliency, performance, and stability while supporting the release process via CI/CD tooling. Collaborate with technical teams to automate tasks, implement global Cloud architecture updates, and close security gaps mapped by InfoSec. Monitor ecosystem health, manage system upgrades and patches, and provide technical support for escalated customer care tickets. Troubleshoot operating problems, application issues, and network connectivity within a 24x7 production environment. Create and maintain architectural and security documentation as needed.
Required Qualifications
- BS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience running and operating Kubernetes on a public cloud
- Experience with Docker and Terraform
- Experience running and maintaining a 24x7 production environment
- Experience scripting in some of the common languages used by system engineers (shell, golang)
- Experience operating large-scale distributed systems preferably using GCP
- Knowledge of Networking, VPN, identifying and solving network issues
- Strong communication and team player skills
- Comfortable with Agile practices for delivering iterative solutions to the business
- Fully comfortable working in English, written and spoken
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Liferay DXP, Liferay Cloud, or equivalent enterprise portal platforms
- Experience with at least one of the following managed Kubernetes services: Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS)
- Experience in automating development processes and environments
- Experience implementing full CI/CD (continuous integration/continuous delivery) pipelines
- Experience with LetsEncrypt integrated with Kubernetes
- Experience with Linux, MySQL, NGINX, Tomcat, Git, Jenkins
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Architect certification
- Google Cloud Certified Professional DevOps Engineer certification
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Security Engineer certification
- Google Cloud Certified Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification
