Job Summary
Present curriculum content to individuals based on established skill components and implement program design including data collection and oversight. Provide hands-on support for activities of daily living such as feeding and toileting, while organizing classroom spaces to facilitate active, ongoing learning programs. Prepare semi-annual and annual reports for assigned case loads, attend Individualized Development Team meetings to provide feedback, and observe participants to maintain hygiene and grooming standards. Offer guidance, training, and mentoring to Direct Support staff while maintaining AMAP certification and adhering to federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines for a safe work environment.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license that allows operation of motor vehicle in New York State
- One year experience working with developmentally disabled adults in a day program setting
- AMAP certification
- Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
- Ability to turn, lift and assist individuals with movement
- Ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's degree from an accredited college in human services or related field
