Job Summary
Developmental Disabilities Intern role focusing on 1:1 direct behavior analysis in home and community settings, utilizing Treatment Plans and Positive Behavior Supports to improve quality of life for individuals aged 4-21. Responsibilities include accepting respite and behavioral assistance cases, shadowing IIC and BA cases, submitting weekly progress notes, delivering environmental arrangements and behavioral interventions, data collection, crisis prevention and intervention, parent education, and assisting Therapists in treatment implementation. Requires pursuing or having a Master’s degree in Special Education or related field, robust background check, and evening availability; bilingual skills are a plus.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to provide proof of credentials and at least 3 professional references
- Must consent to and pass a formal background check including fingerprinting
- Planning or Currently enrolled in a Practicum or Internship in a Master’s Degree Program
- Interns are required to complete the DCF COSC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire date
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in respite care, behavioral healthcare, or a similar field, with direct involvement in supporting individuals facing behavioral challenges (such as maladaptive behaviors), developmental/intellectual disabilities, or mental health conditions
- Has knowledge of Behavioral Interventions and some clinical training
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Creole)
- Schedule: evenings (flexible hours)
