Job Summary
Developmental Disabilities Intern in Union, NJ, unpaid internship supporting 1:1 direct behavior analysis services in home and community settings. Responsibilities include shadowing Intensive in Community (IIC) and Behavioral Assistance (BA) cases, delivering respite care or behavioral assistance, collecting data and writing progress notes (DAP format), assisting in individual and small group therapy, supporting implementation of BA Treatment Plans and Positive Behavior Supports, facilitating environmental arrangements, teaching new skills, and aiding crisis prevention/intervention. Works with individuals ages 4-21 and their families, educating parents on positive parenting and behavior reinforcement, and collaborating with supervising therapists. Flexible evening hours required and COVID-19 safety measures observed.
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing or having completed a Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
- Current college student or recent graduate
- Two years of experience in respite care/behavioral healthcare or related field (preferred)
- Ability to provide proof of credentials and at least 3 professional references
- Must consent to and pass background check including fingerprinting
- Schedule flexibility with evening hours
- D CF COSC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire
