Job Summary
Developmental Disabilities Intern role focused on delivering 1:1 direct behavior analysis services to youth ages 4-21 in home and community settings using assigned Treatment Plans and Positive Behavior Supports. Responsibilities include shadowing Intensive in Community (IIC) and Behavioral Assistance (BA) cases, submitting weekly progress notes, delivering respite care or BA services, assisting in individual and small group therapy, implementing BA Treatment Plans, data collection, crisis prevention and intervention, caregiver education, ensuring policy implementation, and participating in required training. Flexible evening hours; unpaid internship. Must be pursuing or have completed a Master’s degree in Special Education or related field; strong emphasis on clinical training and credentialing.
Required Qualifications
- Must provide proof of credentials and at least 3 professional references
- Must consent to and pass a formal background check including fingerprinting
- Planning or Currently enrolled in a Practicum or Internship in a Master’s Degree Program
- Interns are required to complete the DCF COSC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of their hire
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in respite care, behavioral healthcare, or a similar field, with direct involvement in supporting individuals facing behavioral challenges
- Has knowledge of Behavioral Interventions and some clinical training
- Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Creole)
