Job Summary

Developmental Disabilities Intern responsible for 1:1 direct behavior analysis services in home and community settings, serving ages 4-21. Shadow Intensive in Community (IIC) and Behavioral Assistance (BA) cases; submit weekly progress notes using daily living tasks checklist and DAP Note Format. Deliver services utilizing assigned Treatment Plans and Positive Behavior Supports; assist in delivering individual and small group therapy; support in crisis prevention and intervention; assist in plan development and implementation of BA Treatment Plans; collect data and carry out treatment as designated by supervising Therapist; provide parent/guardian education on positive parenting and transitions. Requires flexible evening hours, passes a background check, and completion of required certifications within 6 months.

Required Qualifications

  • Current college student, or recent graduate
  • Pursuing or have completed Master’s degree in Special Education or related field
  • Equivalent work experience considered
  • Must provide proof of credentials and at least 3 professional references
  • Must consent to and pass a formal background check including fingerprinting
  • Interns are required to complete the DCF COSC Behavioral Assistant Certification within 6 months of hire date
  • Two years of experience in respite care, behavioral healthcare, or similar field
  • Knowledge of Behavioral Interventions and some clinical training
  • Bilingual is a plus (Spanish, Portuguese, Creole)
