Job Summary
Developmental Disabilities Intern to support in-community weekly therapeutic services, providing 1:1 direct behavior analysis in home and community settings under supervision. Roles include shadowing Intensive in Community and Behavioral Assistance, delivering services per Treatment Plans and Positive Behavior Supports, collecting data, delivering progress notes, assisting in individual and small group therapy, crisis prevention/intervention, and educating families. Requires pursuing or having completed a Master’s degree in Special Education or related field, evening availability, and is an unpaid internship. Location: East Orange, NJ; evenings preferred; duties span respite care, behavior modification, and clinical training activities.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to provide proof of credentials and at least 3 professional references.
- Must consent to and pass a formal background check including fingerprinting.
- Planning or Currently enrolled in a Practicum or Internship in a Master’s Degree Program
- Must have a minimum of two years of experience in respite care, behavioral healthcare, or a similar field, with direct involvement in supporting individuals facing behavioral challenges (such as maladaptive behaviors)
- Has knowledge of Behavioral Interventions and some clinical training
