Job Summary
Developmental Care Specialist (Full Time) at Milton Hershey School — a two-person, married-couple role (Flex Houseparents) residing on-campus in a student home to provide care, guidance, supervision, and structured daily routines for about 8–13 students. Responsibilities include daily supervision and mentorship, managing household routines and student schedules, administering medications, driving students to activities, planning/developing developmental and recreational activities, leading daily devotions and Sunday Chapel, and overseeing budgeting and household reporting. Schedule begins with nine consecutive days on duty followed by three days off, with eventual transition to a placed houseparent in the same student home. Benefits include salary per person around $44,768 with total compensation for a couple approx. $168,000, comprehensive benefits, relocation assistance, paid training, and paid time off. Qualifications emphasize experience with youth, a valid U.S. driver’s license, and the ability to lead devotionals and chapel; high school diploma or GED required; physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs; commitment to a smoke-free and weapon-free campus with no alcohol on duty.
