Job Summary
Conduct day-to-day technical transport planning input for commercial, retail, residential, and Local Development Framework projects. Prepare traffic flow information for Transport Assessments and Environmental Statements, while setting up and running junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10 and Linsig. Carry out conceptual junction design including priority, roundabout, and signal configurations. Support private and public sector clients with developing transport strategies, parking strategies, business cases, and Expert Witness evidence. Collaborate with Highways, Services, Structures, and Environmental teams on multi-disciplinary projects.
Required Qualifications
- Experience of technical work on Transport Assessments
- Experience of technical work on Travel Plans
- Experience of technical work on access strategy work
- Experience of technical work on parking strategies
- Experience of technical work on sustainable transport
- Experience of technical work on active travel provision
- Experience of working with NPPF
- Experience of working with DfT Transport Assessment guidelines
- Experience of working with Manual for Streets
- Experience of preparing traffic flow information for use in a Transport Assessment
- Experience of preparing traffic flow information for use in an Environmental Statement
- The ability to set up and run junction capacity modelling software such as Junctions 10
- The ability to set up and run junction capacity modelling software such as Linsig
- The understanding of inputs, outputs and scenario testing for junction capacity modelling
- Capability of carrying out conceptual junction design
- Capability of carrying out conceptual junction design for priority
- Capability of carrying out conceptual junction design for roundabout
- Capability of carrying out conceptual junction design for signals
- Good communication skills
- The confidence to speak with Clients
- The confidence to speak with members of project teams
- The confidence to speak with co-professionals
- The confidence to speak with other project stakeholders
- The ability to share knowledge with others on areas of technical expertise
- Confidence in day to day software packages such as Excel
