Job Summary
Lead a small team of four developers while actively writing production code in .NET, C#, and SQL Server across our monorepo and Registry Hub services. Drive the adoption of agentic AI workflows using Claude Code for code generation, refactoring, and automated QA, while defining prompt engineering practices and guardrails. Own end-to-end delivery of complex integrations with third-party registry APIs and customer systems, ensuring resilient, observable patterns for data reliability across 120 countries. Manage team growth through one-to-ones, performance reviews, and career planning, balancing hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities in an 80/20 split. Collaborate asynchronously with distributed teams across three time zones to plan delivery, remove blockers, and champion strong engineering practices including CI/CD and safe deployments.
Required Qualifications
- Full right to work in Australia with no visa requirements
- 7–10 years of hands-on software development experience
- Experience leading or mentoring other engineers
- Strong, current hands-on skills in .NET / C#
- Solid experience with SQL Server: queries, stored procedures, and relational data modelling
- Proven experience designing, building, and consuming RESTful APIs and integrating with third-party systems and data sources
- Demonstrable experience leading, mentoring, or line-managing engineers
- Genuine interest in developing people and their careers
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted and agentic development tooling (Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or similar)
- Strong system design and architecture judgement
- Ability to make and clearly explain pragmatic trade-offs
- Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills across a distributed system
- Strong written and verbal communication for a remote, distributed team
- Comfortable balancing hands-on delivery with leadership responsibilities (an 80/20 coding-to-leadership split)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience configuring or operating agentic AI workflows for development or QA at a team level
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services (Azure Functions, App Services, Service Bus, Blob Storage, Key Vault, APIM)
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices (Azure DevOps, YAML pipelines, automated deployments)
- Experience with message-driven and event-driven architectures (Azure Service Bus, queues)
- Familiarity with containerisation (Docker) and Kubernetes
- Front-end experience with React or other modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks
- Experience working in a regulated industry (FinTech, HealthTech, GovTech, or similar)
