Job Summary
Conduct preliminary reviews of planning and development applications to identify transportation impacts and ensure policy alignment. Prepare initial comments, draft standard responses, and compile supporting documentation for senior staff. Assist with traffic impact study reviews, data validation, and maintaining the collision database. Respond to routine public inquiries and coordinate internal meetings while escalating complex issues. Provide administrative support for environmental assessments, including drafting mapping materials and taking meeting notes.
Required Qualifications
- three (3) year post-secondary school Community College Diploma in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering Technology or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency
- over six (6) months of experience in traffic engineering or road safety
- ability to travel to off site locations in a timely and expedient manner as required
- current valid and lawful Driver's License in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act
- driver's abstract as a condition of employment
- knowledge of the Planning Act, related legislation and provincial policies
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- organizational and documentation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with traffic analysis software or GIS software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite of Products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
