Job Summary
Oversee commercial development projects from site acquisition through construction completion by managing entitlements, permitting, and regulatory compliance. Coordinate with municipalities, engineering consultants, and contractors to ensure projects meet quality, budget, and schedule goals. Develop project strategies, prepare financial forecasts, and negotiate contracts while resolving engineering and permitting issues during construction. Review geotechnical reports, evaluate design solutions, and lead team meetings to mitigate risks and maintain documentation. Travel to project sites as needed to monitor progress and ensure alignment with development strategies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, land development, commercial construction, or development project management
- Experience managing commercial development projects from site acquisition through construction
- Strong knowledge of zoning, permitting, entitlements, and municipal approval processes
- Working knowledge of civil engineering, geotechnical engineering, and site development
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, and cost estimates
- Experience coordinating engineering consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Strong project management, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple projects and travel as needed
Desired Qualifications
- AutoCAD or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience preferred
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- 5+ years of commercial land development experience
- Experience with commercial retail, fuel, mixed-use, or large-scale developments
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Project
- Strong analytical, budgeting, leadership, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while delivering high-quality, compliant projects
