Job Summary
Development Officer supports planning, launch, and implementation of advancement initiatives under the business development manager; cultivates strategic partnerships with foundations, corporate partners, and community organizations; designs and executes an advancement plan including long-term capital campaigns to meet annual fundraising goals; maintains records of stakeholder interactions and reports on partnership performance; collaborates with program leadership and communications/marketing to tailor funder-facing impact messaging; reports to the business development manager in a hybrid (on-site/remote) West Covina, CA setting; requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of nonprofit development experience with knowledge of child development or early childhood education, and strong relationship-building, communication, and project-management skills; exempt, full-time, year-round position with a four-day workweek option and hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, nonprofit management, communications, or a related field
- Minimum of three years of experience in development within a nonprofit setting
- Proven experience in building and maintaining strategic partnerships, including with foundations, preferably within the education or nonprofit sectors
- Familiarity with nonprofit operations and advancement strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with excellent project management skills
- Knowledge of child development, early childhood education, or related fields
