Job Summary

Solicit donations from individual donors, organizations, and foundations through in-person meetings, calls, and presentations to expand fundraising capacity. Prepare comprehensive proposals for gift opportunities, maintain donor records in CRM systems, and manage an active pipeline of approximately 500 contacts with weekly reporting. Plan and execute donor recognition events, capital campaigns, and the annual cause marketing campaign while serving as the organization's subject matter expert on revenue and budget. Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to share client service outcomes with potential donors and strategically develop community partnerships with local organizations and government agencies. Work toward annual individual fundraising targets of $1 million, communicate regularly with management on program outcomes, and act as a spokesperson for the community during media interviews.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university
  • A minimum of five years of progressive work experience in fund-development, or related field
  • Experience in direct asking for and closing of donations and building/maintaining long-term relationships with donors and organizations
  • Possession of a valid California driver's license and proof of liability insurance on personal auto
  • Must be insurable at all times at standard rate by MMC insurance carrier
  • Must successfully pass a drug, background and Tuberculosis test
  • Deep interest in and commitment to the mission and vision of MMC with a sensitivity to domestic violence
  • Demonstrated ability to work with sensitivity and without discrimination towards peoples of diverse cultures, races/ethnicities, socio/economic positions, ages, religions, and genders, physical, mental challenges, disabilities, and sexual orientations
  • Knowledge of general office practices, procedures, and terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to use current business software applications
  • Must be flexible, adaptable, a creative thinker and problem solver who is also open to the insight of others
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment and collaboratively in cross-disciplinary teams and culturally diverse internal/external constituencies
  • An understanding of data analysis and performance metrics
  • Ability to prepare timely, proper, clear, and concise comprehensive reports, summaries, presentations, correspondence, and other documentation
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate effectively, clearly, and concisely both verbally and in writing in English
  • Ability to receive and utilize constructive feedback regarding performance, presentation and relationships with others
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships through strong interpersonal skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
