Job Summary
Lead development efforts for utility-scale wind, solar, and hydro projects in Ontario—oversee early-stage inception to handover to construction, coordinate cross-functional teams, manage budgets and expenditures, and prepare materials for senior management review. Drive land acquisition, environmental studies, permitting, interconnection and transmission analysis, regulatory and legal coordination, and financial modeling; build and maintain Indigenous partnerships and stakeholder engagement; coordinate studies with outside consultants and internal teams to ensure on-time project progression; guide commercial contract negotiations (PPA, interconnection, equipment, partnerships, and O&M) and support the handover to Construction, with frequent travel within Ontario and related provinces and the US. |
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years’ experience developing utility-scale wind, hydro and/or solar projects.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or equivalent.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience navigating local government process and structure.
- Ability to discuss complex topics in a simple and concise manner.
- Must understand the technical side and be able to explain to stakeholders.
- Must be very detail oriented, organized and consistent.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Experience developing projects within Ontario markets.
