Job Summary

Partner with Executive Directors and volunteer leaders to execute annual plans addressing arthritis community needs, including revenue generation, special event fundraising, and mission outreach. Recruit, develop, and manage event committees and volunteer leaders to achieve goals from the annual plan while cultivating relationships with corporate partners, healthcare providers, and key constituents. Directly support the execution of up to three assigned special events and other fundraising initiatives by planning, implementing events, raising funds, soliciting sponsors, and coordinating outreach. This role balances 60% revenue generation and event delivery, 30% volunteer and partnership management, and 10% market operations. Based in Chicago, IL, the Development Manager fosters a culture of philanthropy and builds coalitions to drive market goals.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or related experience
  • Goal oriented with the ability to work as a part of the team and independently
  • Successful collaborative skills working with a variety of groups (including volunteers)
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Ability to relate and leverage the Arthritis Foundation's mission into effective, sustained relationships and successful projects
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills
