Job Summary
Development Manager at Breakthrough T1D leads fundraising and donor engagement for the Kansas City chapter, driving revenue via Gala, Walk, and related events. Responsible for cultivating donors, managing volunteers, developing annual strategies with national partners, and executing event plans to achieve chapter revenue and engagement goals. Requires 3-5 years in fundraising, success with large events, CRM proficiency (Salesforce), MS Office, ability to travel locally, and willingness to work evenings/weekends. Hybrid schedule: in-office two days weekly and remote/field three days weekly, with additional in-office days during event season. Travel locally expected. Strong communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- 3-5 years of fundraising experience with revenue responsibilities over $500k
- Experience in large-scale events (walk, gala)
- Strong donor and volunteer stewardship
- Proficiency in MS Office and CRM (Salesforce)
- College degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to travel locally
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
- Ability to manage budgets and strategy for events
