Job Summary

Develop press releases, manage grassroots marketing for cause campaigns, and recruit volunteers for special fundraising events. Support logistics for major events including the Gulf Coast Bike Trek and Fight For Air Climb while cultivating relationships with corporate sponsors and individual donors. Utilize multiple online databases and CRMs to execute fundraising activities and participate in staff meetings. Gain technical training in database platforms and learn Non-Profit structures through hands-on experience in communications and donor development. Complete this unpaid, hybrid role requiring 14 hours per week, with documentation from an accredited college needed before the start date.

Required Qualifications

  • Working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Non-Profit Management, Public Health, or related field
  • Eligible for course credit or fulfill a graduation requirement
  • Enthusiastic, reliable, and interested in developing a career in development or non-profit management
  • Strong writing skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Keen interest in the mission of the American Lung Association
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to perform in a team environment
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn
  • Ability to work independently
  • Computer Proficiency – Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Ability to lift and carry 25 lbs. (supplies)
  • Abstain from tobacco use in any form
