Job Summary
Development Engineer role supporting early-stage project development, feasibility, and preliminary design (0–30%), coordinating across electrical, civil, and structural disciplines, serving as a technical liaison between internal design teams, business development partners, and external stakeholders. Balances hands-on engineering analysis with cross-functional collaboration, proposal support, and client-facing technical communication. Owns assigned development scopes, ensures adherence to QA/QC standards, supports the development and maintenance of performance analysis tools. Offers opportunities to expand technical depth, client exposure, and business responsibility based on performance and business needs. Key responsibilities include development engineering design activities, system performance modeling, CAD design, reviewing preliminary designs (0–30%), maintaining knowledge of codes and construction practices, cross-functional coordination, maintaining client relationships, ensuring QA/QC adherence, supporting SBPs, developing and improving development-phase tools, assisting with proposal pricing and pre-sales technical support, and attending trainings and conferences. Qualifications include a 4-year degree in a relevant engineering discipline, 5+ years of experience, AutoCAD proficiency, strong communication skills, and US work authorization. Hybrid or fully remote work model depending on location and project needs; travel 0–10%; office and field engagement as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- 5+ years of engineering or relevant technical experience
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Strong understanding of electrical and civil engineering principles, with emphasis on development-phase engineering
- Commercial understanding of the engineering or construction industries
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced design environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Authorization to work in the United States on a full-time basis
