Job Summary
Lead fundraising, development planning, and operations for the Denver School of the Arts Friends Foundation, serving as the primary conduit between the foundation and DSA leadership. Oversee individual giving, corporate and major gifts, grant applications, and annual fundraising events while managing donor cultivation, stewardship, and the donor database. Collaborate with the Board of Directors, DSA Principal, and artistic directors to ensure guest-artist funding, the Student Success Fund, and the Schomp Scholarship are utilized effectively. Act as chief spokesperson to maintain relationships with arts organizations and promote the foundation's public image. Manage contractors and staff to ensure organizational excellence and consistent financial reporting.
Required Qualifications
- At least five years of successful nonprofit experience
- Proven fundraising track record
- Network of relationships
- Experience managing staff or contractors
- Experience getting maximum impact from a nonprofit Board
- A self-starter
- Outstanding critical-thinking skills
- Problem-solving skills
- Project-management skills
- Superb writing skills
- Personal-communication skills
- Capability of maintaining clear, effective, timely communication with multiple audiences
- Superb skills with Donor Perfect or Raisers Edge, or some other donor/customer relationship management software
- Fluency with digital content management systems (email, website, social media)
- Basic design tools (e.g., Canva)
- A natural ability to understand, empathize and forge authentic connections with a diverse mix of individuals
- Highly collaborative work style
- A valid Colorado driver's license
- The ability to pass a criminal background check
