Job Summary
Directs programs for identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major gift donors ($50,000+) to the School of Business and University of Kansas. Crafts and deploys a strategic operational plan to maximize private support while supervising two professional fundraisers and a development assistant. Coordinates major gift proposals for presentation by University leadership and collaborates with Development Team Leads to align strategies across the organization. Requires extensive travel for donor meetings, events, and networking, including evenings and weekends. Full-time hybrid role with multiple days on-site in Lawrence, KS.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- At least five years of professional experience in major gift fundraising
- Higher education fundraising experience
- Prior management experience
- Excellent written, oral, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to independently initiate, organize and follow through with fundraising strategies
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to exercise excellent judgement
- Adept at using social media, text, phone, and video conferencing
- Strong work ethic

Desired Qualifications
- Professional experience in higher education/healthcare fundraising (substitutable for seven or more years in similar area)
