Job Summary
Development Controller at Chelsea Investment Corporation (CIC) in San Diego, CA, leading all accounting operations and financial reporting across a 350+ entity structure. Reports to the CFO and oversees general ledger integrity, treasury, payroll oversight, and systems administration, with responsibilities including budgeting/forecasting, intercompany transactions, banking relationships, and serving as primary administrator of Sage 300 CRE. The role emphasizes building and leading a seasoned accounting team, partnering with the CFO on process improvements, and supporting new entities as the organization grows. Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive accounting leadership experience
- Experience leading accounting teams and developing staff
- Significant multi-entity accounting experience (100+ entities preferred)
- Real estate development, construction, affordable housing, or similarly complex environments
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting
- Exceptional communication skills and leadership presence
