Job Summary
Part-time Development Communications Consultant responsible for drafting donor emails, postal mail appeals, stewardship communications, and social media copy to support fundraising goals. Collaborates with Covenant House New Jersey’s development team to shape messaging, tailor communications to audiences, and turn briefs into clear donor materials across email, print, and digital channels. Works from past materials and staff guidance; 10-15 hours per week; hourly rate $60-$75.
Required Qualifications
- Experience drafting donor-focused nonprofit communications
- Excellent writing and editing skills
- Experience with donor appeals, donor emails, and stewardship content
- Ability to tailor donor communications to audience, purpose, and fundraising goal
- Ability to strengthen rough ideas or incomplete briefs and turn them into clear, effective donor communications
- Experience writing for both individual and institutional donor audiences
- Familiarity with donor communications across email, print, and social media
- Strong reliability, responsiveness, and revision skills
