Development Architect - Product Processes & Solutions (PP&S)

The AI Architect is the technical backbone of PP&S's AI capability — defining how AI is built, governed, and scaled across SAP's Innovate-to-Operate lifecycle. Responsibilities include owning the end-to-end AI reference architecture across PP&S’s three delivery areas (Engineering & Technology, Solution Support, Cloud Operations), setting integration patterns and tooling standards, maintaining the central tooling registry, producing architecture decision records and technical standards, leading PP&S data strategy for AI, governing data assets and data access, ensuring data architecture supports AI workloads on SAP BTP, AI Core, and BDC, and evaluating new AI technologies and frameworks (LLM orchestration, agentic frameworks, MCP-based integrations) for fit within SAP. The role requires leading PoC work, guiding AI analytics and reporting infrastructure, and providing architecture guidance to senior stakeholders. Key qualifications include a university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems (masters preferred), 8+ years in solution architecture/AI engineering or technical program delivery with at least 3 years in an explicit architecture role in an enterprise context, hands-on experience with SAP’s AI stack (SAP BTP, AI Core, BDC, MCP Servers), strong knowledge of modern AI/LLM patterns, proficiency in Python, and excellent documentation and stakeholder-engagement skills. Fluent English; German a plus. This is a Regular Full Time position with expected travel 0-10% and a hybrid work model.
