Job Summary
Ship runnable technical artifacts, including demos, benchmarks, tutorials, and integrations, every two days while authoring a minimum of two quality technical blog posts monthly. Build public demos showcasing Mercury's speed on realistic workloads and publish honest, reproducible benchmarks alongside the Eval team. Own Inception's developer-facing social presence end-to-end across X, LinkedIn, Reddit, GitHub, and Discord, engaging proactively in technical conversations and representing the company at conferences like GTC and NeurIPS. Partner with Marketing, Sales, Product, and Engineering on content strategy, customer-facing technical initiatives, and API roadmap input.
Required Qualifications
- Deep technical background
- Published or shipped substantial technical work in AI/ML
- PhD
- Prior DevRel at a leading AI/ML company
- Equivalent production engineering experience
- Public voice with a personal audience, following, or body of work
- Experience living in developer communities (X, Discord, Hacker News, GitHub, technical subreddits)
- Knowledge of the AI infrastructure landscape
- Ability to hold opinions on inference optimization, model architectures, benchmark methodology, and field direction
- Informed opinions on autoregressive vs. non-autoregressive approaches
- Ability to engage with rigor (hold hostile threads, concede limitations, correct incorrect premises)
- Ability to teach without condescension (write for beginners and researchers)
- Comfort with breadth (spanning technical content, public presence, and GTM-adjacent work)
- Operator instinct (startup pace, ambiguity, shipping rough drafts, iterating publicly)
- Must be based in Palo Alto, CA
